Prickly Heat Cooling Powder

Prickly heat rash, also known by the diagnostic name miliaria rubra, is caused by an inflammation of the sweat ducts. It is most common during hot or humid weather. The condition is usually temporary and can last from a few hours to several days.
SYMPTOMS:
Prickly heat rash can occur in both adults and children. Common symptoms include the development of a rash, often accompanied by an uncomfortable burning, itchy or prickly sensation.
It will appear on the skin as small raised bumps, reddish in colour and can cover small or large areas of skin. All parts of the body can be affected, including the face. Severe cases may lead to blistering and infection if left untreated. The condition is most prevalent in areas of skin exposed to the sun and areas of the body covered by tight clothing in warm conditions.
PREVENTION:
Minimise body heat and excessive perspiration by wearing lightweight, loose fitting clothing during warm weather conditions. If symptoms appear, keep out of direct sunlight. Stay indoors in a cool room and use air conditioning if available. If symptoms are severe, seek medical advice.
